Ingolstadt, Germany: Audi has purchased Italian motorcycle maker Ducati for $1.12 billion. Ducati thus becomes the twelve brand to fall under the umbrella of the Volkswagen Group and the third under direct control of Audi after Italian supercar maker Lamborghini and struggling Spanish car maker Seat.
